You may have seen a trend emerge toward the end of 2012…metallic wedding details. From invitations to dresses to linens, metallic accents were taking the wedding scene by storm! Well, this trend is still going strong with plenty of brides picking it up for Fall 2013. This time, we see metallics adding a little bit of decadence to cake tables!

There is definitely a fine line between gaudy and gorgeous with metallic wedding cakes, but do it right and your gilded confection will the be the topic of everyone’s conversation! We feel a metallic wedding cake will stand out best if it’s not part of an overall gold or silver theme. It’s best to let this trend be an accent to your color palette. For example, gold pops for a coral, green or purple palette. Silver looks great with a palette of blue, white or grey.
