Our bright neon shoot came from months of inspiration sourcing and planning. It definitely wasn’t all in a days work! But we hope our tips on how we made it work will help you in your planning. We started off with a rustic venue in mind and the thought that we wanted this shoot to be unique and memorable. The venue, Ashley Manor, has a gorgeous barn that we knew we had to use! We’ve seen so many barn weddings around the wedding-sphere lately (which we love!), but we wanted to show how you can have a wedding in a beautiful barn setting with fun, whimsical elements and wonderful pops of color.

From there, we decided on using bright neon colors including fuchsia, neon yellow/green, and a little navy to anchor it all. Metallics is one of our favorite trends right now, so you’ll see gold in the accents.

As we were planning, we created an inspiration board to visually bring together all of these crazy elements. This is an absolute must when creating the look of your day and thank the wedding gods for Pinterest! A great tip is to send the board to your vendors: florist, photographer, decorator etc. It’s so easy to create an inspiration board for any type of wedding. Check out what we pinned for this shoot!

Though it’s easy to get swept up in pinning, there are some other options to source inspiration that we love just as much!

• Thrift stores/Antique shops
• Party stores (Target’s party section always has chic & modern decor ideas)
• Display’s in stores like Anthropologie or your favorite boutique. You can always count on them to be on top of color trends but they’ll always have a unique spin to them that may inspire an element in your wedding look!
• Nature or a private garden- be open minded, you may see a color combo or flower you love (and may be able to locally source it!) not to mention the fresh air will do a bride good. 🙂
